Doctor of Medicine (M.D.)

Masters Degree (M.Sc.) in Iran is a master level degree that requires about two years of study, research, and internship practice in mental health centers. After graduation, graduates will be a MSc in mental health, and they can pursue their studies in different fields.

Graduates are able to start their job in mental health centers, hospitals, Schools, clinics, ….

 

Language of Instruction

Classes during the course of mental health are held in English.

The language of instruction at IUMS for international students will be in English at graduate levels. However, since mental health students at master’s degree require to have communication and interaction with other people and patients, learning Persian could be obligatory for the students of this field.

 

Location

All classes and courses, will be held in Tehran, the capital of Iran.

 

Program Duration

The Master degree lasts about 4-5 semesters. The training classes last 3 semesters and the research thesis dedicate 1-2 semesters to itself.

 

Program Description:

Mental health is an academic field which aimed to train specialists and experts in the field of Mental Health. Graduates of Mental Health can help to improve the Mental health of society through policy making, mental health services and mental health counseling. In this field topics and contents such as principles of counseling and mental health interventions for individual, family and community, crisis interventions, research principles, pathology of addiction, community- oriented mental health are taught.

Admission Requirements

General Requirement: To apply for this program, you will need to fulfill a number of requirements, which can be found in the Graduate Admission Requirements

Specific Requirements: Holding a B.Sc. in Medical Sciences. 

The eligible candidate should have successfully completed an approved related degree program and should be proficient in English.
